FOREST PARK — It may be July but it's time to start football practice.
The Forest Park City Council will take up a request Monday by the city's youth football league to use Kiwanis Stadium for football and cheerleading practices and games.
The request for a resolution to execute an agreement between the league and the city is the sole item on the agenda.
The agreement includes the use of Kiwanis Stadium, concession stands and Lopez, Baker, Burke, Stanford and Johnson fields. Players and cheerleaders will use the facilities starting July 23 and ending Nov. 21. Practices will be held Mondays through Thursdays from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Game dates are Aug. 18 and 25; Sept. 1, 15, 22 and 29; Oct. 6, 13 and 27; and Nov. 3.
The council meets the first Monday of the month at City Hall. The business session starts at 6:30 and the regular meeting follows at 7 p.m. The meetings are open to the public. Residents can sign up to address the council on any topic during the public comments portion of the meeting.
