Riverdale native Myka Lightfoot signed with Brenau University for this upcoming women’s basketball season.
Lightfoot, a 5-foot-8 shooting guard who graduated from North Atlanta High School, averaged 12 points, 3 assists and 2 steals while shooting over 40 percent from 3-point range this past season. The Lady Warriors finished with a 16-10 record.
“Myka has been very passionate about attending Brenau,” Brenau head coach Kris Stewart said. “Her enthusiasm and shooting ability will definitely be assets to the team.”
Myka said that it was her dream to play college basketball and she wanted to “thank Coach Stewart and Brenau University for giving me my dream.”
“Myka is a great competitor, hard worker, and a great kid to have on a team,” said Julius Brown, Myka’s AAU Coach. “She is a great student and is always looking to help her classmates and friends however she can. I have enjoyed every moment of coaching her and watching her develop into not just a great player but a wonderful young lady as well.”
