JONESBORO — Clayton County police released a sketch of a man wanted in connection with Thursday’s armed sexual assault of a minor child in Lovejoy.
Lt. Chris Windley said the victim described her assailant as a dark-skinned black man in his mid- to late 20s, about 6 feet, 1 inch tall with a muscular build and a tattoo on his inner left forearm, which could be a word or name. The victim said he looked like he has runner’s legs, said police.
Other descriptions include a black handgun, possibly a Glock, carried in his left hand; a bright orange Nike T-shirt with “Just Do It” on the front; black, knee-length basketball shorts; red plaid underwear; black and white basketball shoes resembling Air Jordans and a close haircut.
The man fled the scene, running toward Lacosta Mobile Home Park or Lovejoy Station.
“We are currently awaiting forensic results from the Georgia Bureau of Investigations,” said Windley.
Windley said the child was walking through Rose Commons Drive in Lovejoy when she was accosted and taken into the woodline, where she said she was sexually assaulted.
Anyone with information on the suspect or assault should contact the Clayton County Police Department at (770) 477-3648.
