Police seek two in death case

FOREST PARK — Police are looking for two people of interest in connection with the suspicious death of a woman found inside her home June 14.

Isabelle Mason, 62, was found dead inside her Lorraine Drive home by police who had been contacted by out-of-town relatives concerned for her welfare. No one else was inside the home, said police.

Maj. Chris Matson said an autopsy performed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Medical Examiner’s Office failed to determine a cause or manner of death. Matson said there was no sign of trauma to her body.

Mason’s gray 1999 Ford Contour is missing from her driveway and has not been located, said Matson. The license plate on the car is Georgia AYS6506.

Matson said two people cashed a personal check of Mason’s during the time she could not be reached. Cheryl Nicole Butler, 33, was identified on bank surveillance tape with an unidentified black male, he said.

Butler is from Augusta, but her last known address was a homeless shelter in Atlanta, said Matson.

“We believe both of these individuals could be potential witnesses or could provide vital information regarding the death of Isabelle Mason,” he said.

Anyone with information on the location of the Ford, the identity of the unidentified black male or the whereabouts of Butler is asked to contact Forest Park Police Department at (404) 366-4141.
