RIVERDALE — Southern Regional Medical Center found itself among Georgia’s top hospitals this week in a statewide group’s new listing of high performing medical institutes, the hospital has announced.
Southern Regional was named to the Georgia Hospital Association’s Partnership for Health and Accountability Core Measures Honor Roll, according to a news release from the hospital. Medical centers are placed on the honor roll based on Jan. 1, 2011 until Dec. 31, 2011 clinical data the Federal Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services provides to the Georgia Hospital Association.
The Riverdale-based hospital was one of 18 named under the “Presidential” category, which Southern Regional officials said is one of the highest categories on the honor roll.
“It is our mission to ensure that each of our patients receives the right care at the right time and this recognition validates this,” said Southern Regional Chief Executive Officer James E. Crissey, in a written state. “This honor is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of our staff who are constantly working to make excellent care even better.”
