Have a question about the Transportation Investment Act and its tax, known as the T-SPLOST? Clayton County Chairman Eldrin Bell will take questions about it via phone with a “wireside chat” Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
Fashioned after President Franklin Roosevelt’s Fireside Chats during World War II, the wireside chats — one for each county in the metro Atlanta area — are part of the Atlanta Regional Commission’s effort to mobilize support for the act and its tax. A referendum on the tax will be held July 31.
Pre-registration for Clayton County’s chat closed Tuesday, but residents can still participate by calling (877) 229-8493 and entering 19878 Thursday night.
Those who’ve already pre-registered will receive a reminder e-mail Thursday morning, then a phone call with an opportunity to ask a question Thursday night at the number they’ve provided . Everyone who asks a question will get an answer either live Thursday or in writing later.
