As of about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, Clayton County police had been working a possible hostage situation in Ellenwood for more than five hours, said police.
Spokeswoman Officer Charlene Frazier said officers responded to a home inside Saddle Creek subdivision about 9:04 a.m. Wednesday. Frazier said the call came in as a possible domestic dispute.
“We got a call that a man entered a residence there with a gun,” she said. “We don’t know if anyone else is in the residence or if he is by himself.”
Frazier said no shots have been fired and she did not know if police had made contact with the man.
Frazier said the subdivision has been shut down and police are not letting anyone inside the neighborhood.
