A Morrow woman was arrested for allegedly setting her husband's clothes on fire in an attempt to burn down his house, Clayton County fire officials announced Monday.
Angela Faye Harris Watkins, 45, is charged with arson in the first degree and criminal damage to property in the second degree. Clayton County fire Capt. Walter Barber said Watkins was charged with intentionally causing the fire at 2352 Wood Valley Drive in Morrow.
According to warrants issued from Clayton Magistrate Court, Watkins stands accused of deliberately set the fire June 12 about 2:14 a.m. A witness told police she heard Watkins tell her husband, "I set your clothes on fire," according to the warrant.
Watkins has been released from the Clayton County Jail on a $20,000 bond with special conditions that include no violent contact with the victim.
