Officials from the Clayton Center’s Paula Crane Life Enrichment Center are inviting women to visit the center next week, to learn about the importance of getting tested for HIV and AIDS.
The enrichment center has announced it will host an “HIV/AIDS Awareness Event,” for all women over the age of 18, on March 8, from 5:45 p.m., to 9 p.m. It is being held in recognition of National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.”
Officials from the center said the event is expected to feature free rapid HIV testing for women who participate in the program. Games, door prizes, refreshments and free childcare is also expected to be offered.
The program will be sponsored by the Clayton Center Community Service Board; Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities; Imagine Hope, Inc.; the HIV Early Intervention Services Program, and the National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS.
