The Clayton County Senior Services department is set to host a free diabetes-testing event for elderly residents in Riverdale, on Tuesday.
The department is partnering with the Clayton County Board of Health, Southern Regional Medical Center, Metro Atlanta YMCAs, the Medicare Diabetes Screening Project, and the Put Up Your Dukes Foundation to host a “Diabetes Awareness Day.”
It is scheduled to run Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the Frank Bailey Senior Center, which is located at 6213 Riverdale Road in Riverdale.
The event is expected to include free, on-site diabetes testing, and introduce seniors to a Metro Atlanta YMCA program designed to teach overweight, elderly residents about improved eating habits and techniques that can help increase physical activity.
