The school known to its students and parents simply as, “The Mill,” is planning a big “Community Day” for late April, an official at the school has announced.
Mundy’s Mill High School’s parent liaison, Sonna Singleton –– who is also a Clayton County commissioner –– said a yard sale, community-service project and parade is scheduled to take place on April 21, from 7 a.m., to 3 p.m., at the school.
Mundy’s Mill High School is located at 9652 Fayetteville Road, in Jonesboro.
Anyone who has items around their house that they want to get rid off, is invited to sell them at the yard sale, Singleton said. She added that the community-service project will entail painting and repairing areas in the school that are in need of beautification.
The parade, which is slated to kick off at 10 a.m., will be in honor of the school’s Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps unit’s State Drill Meet Championship.
The fee to rent a table at the yard sale, or to participate in the parade is $20, according to Singleton. She said there is a separate fee for people, or businesses, who want to be vendors at the event, but added that those people would need to speak with her directly about that fee.
Call Singleton at (678) 817-3008, for more information about the event.
