Photo by Derrick Mahone Corey Harmon of Mundy's Mill earned the win against Marist in the first game of the teams best-of-three Class AAAA playoff series on Wednesday.
Mundy’s Mill split its second round Class AAAA playoff series with Marist on Wednesday.
The Tigers won the opening game of the best-of-three series on the road with a 7-0 win behind a solid pitching performance from Corey Harmon. Marist won the nightcap 12-1 to force a Game 3 on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
Harmon, a senior, had eight strikeouts and gave up only two hits.
Mundy’s Mill is 22-8 and Marist is 17-13-1.
Last week, Mundy’s Mill won its first playoff series since 2008 when it defeated Jones County in the first round.
