Photo by Derrick Mahone Mundy's Mill seniors Corey Harmon (left) and Rashad Crawford were named the top players in Region 4-AAAA by the coaches. Harmon, an Albany State signee, was named the region's Pitcher of the Year after compiling a 5-2 record with 53 strikeouts. Crawford, a Tallahassee Community College signee, hit .507 this season for the Tigers.
It is apparent that opposing coaches in Region 4-AAAA took note of what Mundy’s Mill teammates Rashad Crawford and Corey Harmon did this season.

The two received the region’s top honors after leading the Tigers into the second round of the Class AAAA playoffs.
Crawford, a senior third baseman, was selected as the region’s player of the year while Harmon, also a senior, was named the pitcher of the year by the coaches.
A Tallahassee Community College signee, Crawford batted .507 with 15 runs-batted in and three home runs this season. He also had 22 stolen bases for the Tigers, who finished as region runner-up.
Crawford was also a member of the school’s basketball team.
“He came straight from basketball to baseball and grew into his role,” Mundy’s Mill coach Patrick Smith said. “He has been consistent throughout his career, but sort of took it to another level this season.”
Harmon, an Albany State signee, was one of the most dominant pitchers in the state this season. He was 5-2 with a 1.40 ERA in 40 innings pitched. He only give up 19 runs on the season and had 53 strikeouts.
At the plate, he hit .457 with 31 RBIs and four homers. He also scored 25 runs for the Tigers. He was even more dominant in the postseason by compiling a 2-1 record with a save. He had 17 strikeouts in 19 innings pitch while giving up only two runs.
“After getting off to a somewhat slow start by his standards, he really recovered,” Smith said. “He really surpassed all the expectations we had for him.”
In addition, Mundy’s Mill had two other players named to the first team in second baseman Rodney Smith and Raheem Jackson.
Region champion Lovejoy had four players named to the first team in shortstop Brandon Chisolm, catcher Mark Flournoy, pitcher Xavier Anthony and outfielder Vance Johnson.
Mount Zion, which reached the playoffs for the first time in school history this season, had one player named to the first team. Kenneth Wiggins was selected as the first-team third baseman.
