The two Hampton teenagers missing since last week have been found safe.
Mytasia Anaya Dormevil and Alana Gray were reported missing May 22, but Hampton Police Capt. Derrick Austin, said police received an anonymous tip about the teens’ whereabouts, and located them in Atlanta Saturday.
“The Atlanta Police Department received a tip of the missing teens’ location,” said Capt. Austin. “They were taken into custody at the Metro Youth Detention Center in DeKalb County.
The Hampton Police Department has filed runaway charges against the 15-year-old girls, said Austin. Both juveniles appeared before Henry County Juvenile Court Judge James P. Brown Jr., Monday.
Following court, Gray was released to her parents’ custody. Dormevil is being held at the Metro Youth Detention Center in Atlanta on a probation warrant, according to police.
Police said locating the teenage girls was difficult because neither had a cell phone, nor had they updated any information on their Facebook pages. They also have not had any contact with any classmates, according to police.
Dormevil is a student at Mainstay Academy in Stockbridge. Gray is a student at Luella High School.
