ELLENWOOD — A 6-year-old girl was allegedly molested on Halloween in the back seat of her mother’s car.
The incident reportedly occurred when the victim’s mother said she gave the suspect and his wife a ride home, according to Clayton County police Detective J. D. Childs in the arrest warrant.
Clayton police arrested Emeterio Baltierrez of 4379 Ga. Highway 42, Lot #54 in Ellenwood. Baltierrez, 61, is charged with aggravated child molestation and aggravated sexual battery.
According to the arrest warrant, the mother told police she went to pick up a friend in Forest Park and when she arrived, her friend’s husband, Baltierrez was with her. The suspect rode in the backseat with her daughter and 2-year-old son. The mother told police when she dropped the couple off, her daughter told her Baltierrez had touched her inappropriately.
Childs said a forensic interview was conducted with the child at a Clayton County shelter. The child reportedly told authorities the suspect had touched her with his finger. She reportedly identified where she was touched on an anatomical drawing. The child told authorities the incident happened while they were in her mother’s car, the arrest warrant alleges.
The detective said Baltierrez denied molesting the girl.
“Baltierrez stated he only picked the victim up to move her to the center seat so he could sit down on the passenger side,” Childs said in the warrant application affidavit.
Police said the child was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Thursday and Friday, where she was examined by medical staff who documented a small tear/laceration.
