JONESBORO — There was a steady stream of voters casting their ballots at Lee Elementary School Tuesday.

The Jonesboro Precinct 3 poll manager, Bridgette Westly, said a lady was in line to vote an hour before the polls opened.

“I’ve been here since 6 a.m., and we had one voter,” Westly said. “She had to wait until 7 a.m., she was the first person in line.”

Nearly 60 people began to form a line at the precinct around 7:30 a.m., she added.

Around 5 p.m., the poll manager said she was expecting a “rush of voters.”

Westly said her precinct was a fairly large voting precinct.

At 4:50 p.m., 638 people voted at the Jonesboro three precinct, according to Westly.

Aldon Kiffin was one of the voters at the precinct. Kiffin said he voted for President Obama.

“The last presidential election, I was in Texas and I didn’t get to vote,” Kiffin said. “I want Obama to win, because if you start something you must finish it. In four years, he could not finish whatever plans he has for the country.”

Len St. Clair said he also voted at the precinct. St. Clair said he voted for Mitt Romney.

“I feel good about voting because I think I made the right choices,” St. Clair said. “I voted for Romney because I like his views and outlook on the future. Plus, he is an NRA (National Rifle Association) supporter.”
