JONESBORO Clayton County residents will be able to meet a Fairburn painter whose work is on display in Jonesboro this weekend.
Final Touch Frame Shop will hold a free reception honoring Reginald Laurent on Saturday from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the shop, located at 309A North Main St., in Jonesboro. The shop is showcasing Laurent’s colorful canvas paintings in a display running through the end of the month, said Final Touch co-owner Miriam Graham.
Graham said the display of Laurent’s work is part of an ongoing series of artist exhibits hosted at the frame shop. He paints busy pieces packed with little objects including a drum, the letter “H” and a musical note on canvas attached to frames built to represent different geometric shapes — such as a circle and a hexagon.
Attendees will be able to enjoy light food and drinks and listen to music while they peruse the art created by Laurent. The public is invited to attend the reception, but the frame shop’s owners are asking potential attendees to RSVP by calling 770-472-1148.
