‘Christmas in the Park’ returns to Morrow

Carnival rides sit quiet and unused in the parking lot of the Morrow Center at Southlake Mall Thursday afternoon. However, the rides are expected to filled with families when the City of Morrow holds its annual “Christmas in the Park” celebration Saturday.

MORROW — Santa Claus and his bovine doppelgänger — a Chick-fil-A Santa Cow — will be in Clayton County this weekend.

The City of Morrow will hold its annual Christmas in the Park celebration at the Morrow Center, 1180 Southlake Mall, from 2 p.m., until 7 p.m., Saturday. The event will begin with a holiday carnival and continue with children getting to eat with Santa and the Chick-fil-A Santa Cow and a Christmas. It will end with a tree lighting.

Parents must call city officials in advance at 770-968-1623 to reserve a spot for their children to eat with Santa Claus and the cow.

A car show will also take place as part of the celebration. City officials are asking attendees bring toys to donate to the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program during the event.
