Residents development input sought — again

— Clayton County residents have another chance to be the masters of their county’s economic fate.

Officials from the Georgia Institute of Technology’s Enterprise Innovation Institute will host the second of two public input forums on economic development Dec. 6. The forums are part a new county-wide economic development strategic plan Georgia Tech representatives are putting together for the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce.

Thursday’s meeting will last from 7 p.m., until 9 p.m., at Mundy’s Mill High School, located at 9652 Fayetteville Road, in Jonesboro.

“We had a really big turnout for our last forum,” said Jason Chernock, project manager at the Enterprise Innovation Institute. “About 60 people showed up, so hopefully we’ll get the same turnout for this forum.”

In addition to the chamber of commerce and residents, the strategic plan is being developed with input from the Clayton County Water Authority, Delta Air Lines, Clayton State University and the National Archives at Atlanta.
