FOREST PARK — The executive director of Arts Clayton said she is excited about the partnership her organization has with the City of Forest Park.

Arts Clayton is a community non-profit arts organization and visual art gallery serving Clayton County and the Southern Crescent Region since 1986, according to Linda Summerlin, its executive director.

“I am here on behalf of our board,” Summerlin said. “We want to thank you for your support. Arts Clayton recognizes the importance of our Partners in reaching families. Forest Park has embraced these opportunities and the economic viability of the arts. This partnership has allowed Arts Clayton a forum to bring our message to a larger audience.”

Summerlin acknowledged recently discovering Todd Briske, a resident of Forest Park and soft metal artist. She included key chains Briske created inside goodie bags that were given to the council.

She said Briske works in mixed media, mostly metal and glass.

“The Arts Clayton Gallery exhibits only works by Georgia artists with the exception of traveling exhibits,” Summerlin said. “Currently, there are over 400 Georgia artists who have been curated to exhibit in the gallery.”

Forest Park City Manager John Parker said the Arts Clayton goodie bags were a very nice gesture on the part of the Arts Clayton organization.

“The city supports Arts Clayton and their efforts to advance the education and benefit of an active and viable arts program,” Parker said.

I attended the Gutenberg Bible exhibit, and was very impressed! I'm excited about Arts Clayton, especially since it is just a few miles from me.
