MORROW — Morrow police are searching for a man who robbed a Bank of America.
The robbery took place Tuesday at 3:40 p.m., at the Bank of America located at 1200 Mt. Zion Road in Morrow. Morrow Police investigators returned to the bank Wednesday, according to Morrow Police Capt. James Callaway.
Callaway said a man walked into the Southlake branch of Bank of America and demanded cash.
“The man said, ‘Give me the money,’ and she complied with his demands,” Callaway said. “No one saw a weapon and he did not indicate that he had a weapon. However, when caught he will face the same exact charges as if he had a weapon.”
Police said the bank robber fled the scene with an “undisclosed amount of money.”
There were no injuries reported during the robbery.
“It happened toward the end of the business day, normally the banks get crowded toward the end of day,” Callaway added. “There were a good bit of customers inside the bank.”
Callaway said police are working to determine if the bank robber had accomplices.
“We arrived at the scene within a minute and a half after the call to 911,” said the police captain. “We immediately began processing the scene and interviewing witnesses.”
The case is under investigation by Morrow Police investigators, and Clayton County Police Department Crime Scene Investigators.
“We are also using some resources available to us from the federal level,” he continued.
Morrow police are working with Crimestoppers Atlanta to obtain information from the public about the bank robber.
“We are actively seeking the identification of [the suspect],” Callaway said.
Anyone with information about the identity of the bank robber is asked to notify Morrow Criminal Investigation Division at 770-961-4000, 24 hours a day. Or e-mail email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
“All information can be made anonymously,” said Callaway.
