RIVERDALE — Jemeka Vontrell Riley has been charged with stabbing her baby’s father to death Sunday.
It isn’t the first time she’s been in trouble with with law.
Riley had been implicated in an assault case in 2006, and in another case pled guilty to assault, disorderly conduct and disruption of the operation of a public school in 2011.
Police alleged this week that Riley, 25, of Ellenwood, used a kitchen knife with a blade that exceeded three inches to fatally stab Shamontay Robinson during a dispute Sunday, though they say she told them she “blacked out.” Riley was denied bond in Clayton County Magistrate Court Monday.
Clayton County Police officer E. Soto said Riley was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime. It stemmed from an incident that occurred Sunday around 6:30 p.m., at 1801 Bentwater Court in Riverdale.
“According to witnesses, a domestic disturbance argument escalated and ended in the stabbing of Shamontay Robinson,” Soto said.
Robinson, 26, was transported to Southern Regional Medical Center, where he died.
