‘Olde Towne’ trashed by vandals

— A $13 million taxpayer-funded commercial development that was suppossed to draw tourists and shoppers to Morrow is instead attracting vandals and falling into ruin.

“Olde Towne Morrow” was intended to be a new revenue source for the city, but it became a shuttered symbol of wasteful government spending and mismanagement when it was shut down nearly two years ago by town leaders. Among the development’s problems were a lack of planning, few tenants paying rent and violations of the city’s fire code and the federal Americans With Disabilities Act.

Clayton News Daily has discovered the site is now a target of vandalism, with damage done to several buildings located at the development. Trash has also been found left behind on the property.

A preliminary review of city records indicates a history of people causing thousands of dollars in property damage at the site as far back as mid-2011.

......This kind of destruction, to abandon houses, is happening all over this county. Why would Olde Town Morrow be any different to the criminals ?

....Rule Number # 1, when building a location........Look around at the area.

.......Most of time, location means everything.

.....QUOTE : "A $13 million taxpayer-funded commercial development that was suppossed to draw tourists and shoppers to Morrow is instead attracting vandals and falling into ruin."

...This is what happens, when others uses tax payer's money for speculation purposes.

....QUOTE : "That project might have worked in the seventies, and eighties, but now."

.......The competition would have been more fierce, during the seventies & eighties.

......There would still be construction codes to conform with.

....In my opinion; Using Tax Payer's Money, for Business Speculation Purposes, is totally unethical,
.......I'm very Surprised & Disappointed to see this comment section so empty.
