FOREST PARK — A fugitive wanted for a Forest Park murder two months ago is now behind bars at the Clayton County jail.
Larry Eugene Lupoe of Forest Park was denied bond during his first appearance in Clayton County Magistrate Court Wednesday.
Lupoe was booked into the Clayton jail Tuesday after authorities said they located him in Michigan. He is charged with felony murder and armed robbery.
The charges stem from an incident that happened Aug. 2, in room 105 of the Home Lodge Hotel, located at 4552 Old Dixie Road in Forest Park.
Tavares Moses was fatally shot at the hotel when three masked men, one of which police said was Lupoe, armed with guns entered his hotel room to rob him. Police said Moses was shot five times, according to Forest Park Detective J. Raley in the arrest warrant. Moses later died at Grady Hospital.
Initially, Forest Park police said Lupoe was a person of interest in the murder case. Later, police named him as a suspect.
“[Lupoe] with two other male suspects entered Moses’ room ... the suspects took money and items from Moses,” according to the arrest warrant.
According to the arrest warrant, detectives said Lupoe planned and participated in the fatal shooting with five other suspects, one of which was his girlfriend.
At the time of the incident, Forest Park Maj. Chris Matson said detectives from the Forest Park Criminal Investigation Division (CID) arrested the girlfriend, Quandala Kilgore, and Parris Stready for their alleged involvement in the incident.
Forest Park Police are continuing to search for the two other male suspects involved in the murder and armed robbery.
Anyone with information on the identity and or the whereabouts of the murder suspects is asked to call Forest Park Police at 770-366-7280.
