COLLEGE PARK — A four-hour standoff at the Willow Way Apartments complex ended Saturday morning with a 35-year old College Park man facing false imprisonment, cruelty to children and family violence battery charges, according to Clayton County police.

Police said officers responded twice early Saturday to domestic disturbance calls at an apartment in building C of the complex, located at 5900 Riverdale Road. When they were called out for a third time, at 5:15 a.m., the situation turned into a standoff.

“After receiving another call, the suspect, Chacoland Lamon Dye ... refused to come out and stated that he would shoot anyone who came inside the residence,” according to a police statement.

The standoff ended just after 9 a.m., and Dye was arrested on warrants for seven false imprisonment charges, five cruelty to children charges and one family violence battery charges. Two other men in the apartment were also arrested, on obstruction charges. Those men were identified by police as Stone Mountain resident Dante Wallace, 34, and Flint, Mich., resident Antwain Johnson, 35.

Police spokesman Officer John Schneller said further details about the standoff — including why Dye, Wallace and Johnson were in the same apartment, or how many children were present — were not immediately available Saturday afternoon.

A police report likely will not be ready until Wednesday, he said.
