JONESBORO — With homecoming just around the corner for many high schools and middle schools in Clayton County, scores of students, teachers, administrative staff, and local community members are filling the stands to support their football teams.
Forest Park High School fans went to Tara Stadium in Jonesboro, to support their Panthers in the school’s alumni appreciation game on a cool Friday night.
Though they were defeated 40-0 by Creekside High School of Fairburn, it did not kill the school spirit. Residents tailgated in the stadium’s parking lot, grilling hamburgers and hot dogs. Youngsters indulged their faces with icy cold snow cones, pizza, candy, and nachos.
The school’s marching band, cheerleaders, and dancers cheered with the crowd, most of whom were dressed in the school’s colors, maroon and gold.
Here’s a list of upcoming games on Friday, Sept. 28, at 7:30 p.m.:
• Eagle’s Landing at Riverdale (Southern Crescent Stadium - Drew High School).
• Locust Grove at North Clayton (Tara Stadium).
• Woodland at Jonesboro (Twelve Oaks Stadium - Lovejoy High School).
