Lake City asking for residents junk

— Lake City Mayor Willie Oswalt and other city leaders are asking residents to clean out their homes of all of the dust-collecting papers, appliances, empty boxes and other junk they don’t need anymore.

They can dump these items into the city’s hands during its city-wide Clean Up Day Saturday and let officials handle their disposal.

Even leaves and tree branches will be accepted.

“We take everything,” Oswalt said.

Residents can dump off their junk from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Lake City Maintenance Building, 5535 North Pkwy.

Document shredding will be available from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., Oswalt said.
