Mildred Stevens Edmondson, 89, of St. Augustine, Fla., passed peacefully into the hands of God April 18, 2013. She was the widow of Earl Jackson Edmondson Sr. and is survived by four children, Earlene Gardner, Marsha Cain, Earl Edmondson and Cindy Stang; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mildred was a graduate of Girls High School in Atlanta. She generously volunteered her time to the Memorial Hospital of Flagler Auxiliary, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, and in her earlier years as a Girl Scout leader. Mildred loved to play cards, Scrabble and mahjong. She was a fantastic homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.
Mildred will live on in the love and values she gave so selflessly. The world has lost a remarkable, irreplaceable woman. She will be deeply missed by many. The funeral will be held in the chapel Wednesday, April 24, at 11 a.m. at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors. Interment to follow at Westview Cemetery.
