JONESBORO — Clayton County leaders will hold their second and final comprehensive plan community workshop Monday.
The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m., in the VIP Complex at Clayton County International Park, 2300 Ga. 138 in Jonesboro. It is designed to give residents an opportunity to offer input on important issues and projects they want to see addressed over the next two decades.
The gathering of that feedback is the first phase of the 20-year comprehensive plan’s development. It is expected to help guide some of the goals to be outlined in the document.
“We realize that stakeholder participation is essential to the success of any planning initiative, and appreciate your time and valuable input in this collaborative effort,” officials wrote on the county website.
A comprehensive plan is required by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.
“The plans, while not legally binding, guide many different decisions that are legally binding from land use to zoning,” the plan’s website, claytoncompplan.wordpress.com, states. “The comprehensive plan sets the tone for all government decisions moving forward.”
