STOCKBRIDGE — Clayton County police are investigating the death early Tuesday morning of a pedestrian killed on Interstate-75 near Ga. 138.
Officer Gary Syblis said the name of the pedestrian is not being released as police continue the investigation.
Syblis said police responded about 2:45 a.m. to a report that a pedestrian had been hit and killed by a vehicle on northbound I-75 just north of Ga. 138.
“Based upon the initial findings, it appears that the pedestrian was in the roadway when struck by a vehicle that was traveling in the northbound lanes on I-75,” he said. “The identity of the victim is not being released at this time.”
The interstate at Ga. 138 was completely shut down for several hours, said Syblis.
This investigation is continuing.
