JONESBORO — Clayton County’s dancing seniors want their fellow golden-agers to join them for a party later this week.

The Brookdale Dine and Dance Club has announced it will open its doors for anyone in the Southern Crescent over 55 for its annual Christmas party on Friday at 6 p.m. at the Jim Huie Recreation Center, 9045 Tara Blvd., in Jonesboro. The festivities will begin with dinner, for which all attendees are asked to bring a covered dish to share.

At 6:45 p.m., the dancing will begin and it will last until 8:30 p.m. Bill Mitchell will be the DJ for the party. It is also common for members of the club to swap dancing partners throughout the night.

For those people not familiar with the Jim Huie Recreation Center, it is across Deputy Rick Daly Memorial Boulevard from the Harold R. Banke Justice Center. Anyone wishing to join the club for future events can attend their weekly meetings every Friday at the recreation center.
