The Atlanta Motor Speedway will once again turn into the area’s biggest drive-through Christmas lights park. Gates open at 6 p.m. every evening with closing at 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday. Gates close at 10 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and holidays — including Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day. Clayton County Chairman Jeff Turner is hosting a fundraiser and toy drive at Skybox Restaurant and Lounge, 2180 Mt. Zion Parkway on Dec. 12 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Bring a new unwrapped toy or cash donation. Toys and monies will go to benefit the children of Ambassadors Behind CASA Program. A job fair is being hosted by the 3rd Medical Command Dec. 13 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Fort Gillem enclave in Forest Park. Christmas Party

The Brookdale Dine and Dance Club will have their annual Christmas Party on Friday, Dec. 13, at the Jim Huie Recreational Center in Jonesboro. Time for dinner is 6 p.m. Each person that wishes to participate in the dinner should bring a dish to share. This club has been meeting on the Southside of Atlanta for about 35 years, and is for seniors ages 55 and older. Dancing begins at about 6:45 p.m. and ends at 8:30 p.m. The D.J. for the Christmas party will be Bill Mitchell.
