MORROW — A tear began to roll down Morrow Police Sgt. Richard Thrasher’s left cheek as Capt. James Callaway stood before residents of the city and heaped praise upon his colleague Tuesday.

Callaway presented Thrasher with his 10-year service pin during the Morrow City Council meeting this week. During the presentation, Callaway recalled how long he’s known Thrasher and why his friend is dedicated to his job.

“Ten years is a real special time,” said Callaway. “I’ve worked with Richard for a long time in investigations, in patrol, nighttime, daytime. You name it. He’s a really good guy. I know his heart. I know his family. I know why he does what he does.

“He does this day in and day not not for the pay, not for the rewards but for what comes behind this badge and this a true heart,” Callaway added.

Thrasher was joined by his wife, their children and his father for the occasion.
