Floyd R. James, 85, of Jonesboro went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013.

Floyd was born May 7, 1927, in Tennille, Ga., to John Floyd and Rowena James. He was a 1946 graduate of Boys High in Atlanta. After high school, he worked for the AJC and was a staff manager for Prudential Life Insurance Co. He worked as a union brick mason through BAC local 33 until retirement at age 62, and was a 50-year member.

Floyd’s interest included gardening, training, showing Keeshond dogs, visiting with family, and traveling. For his special days we gave him life experiences such as skydiving lessons and flying a bi plane.

Floyd is survived by his wife of 34 years, Barbara; brother, William (Millie) James; daughter, Lisa (Ronnie) Wiseman; stepdaughter, Terri Silvey; and stepson, Kenneth (Christa) Pack; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation were held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel. Services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 2 p.m. in the Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel, with the Rev. Chad Bailey of the Rock PCA church, Hwy. 155, Stockbridge officiating.
