MORROW — Dr. Mark Risjord helped kick off Clayton State University’s Sixth Annual Southeast Philosophy Congress Friday. He presented a keynote lecture on “Jazz Improvisation and the Problem of Joint Action.”
Risjord is a philosophy professor at Emory University’s College of Arts and Sciences and a nursing professor at its Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing.
He joins a list of 18 speakers in this weekend’s philosophy conference, which continues Saturday in rooms 322 and 327 of the James M. Baker University Center, 2000 Clayton State Blvd. in Morrow.
The conference’s one-hour lecture sessions begin at 9:30 a.m. and continue until 4:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by Clayton State’s department of humanities and college of arts and sciences. It is free and open to the public.
