Doris Speights Johnson, 84, of Clinton, Miss., died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013. She was born May 16, 1928, in Turner County, Ga. She was a member of the Faith Sunday School class at Parkway Baptist Church and the Trace Pointe Adult Day Care, both in Clinton, Miss. She retired from Bell South after 35 1/2 years of service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Johnson.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Johnson Taylor and her husband Joe, and Darleen Johnson Watson and her husband Tom. She has three married grandchildren, Darleen Taylor Dozier and her husband Eric; David Taylor and his wife Trish; and Danny Taylor and his wife Beth. She has 10 grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Margaret Speights Trimm of Northport, Ala.; and numerous nephews and nieces. She is loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 16, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home on Clinton Blvd. Funeral services will be Sunday, Feb. 17, at 1 p.m. from Holly Hill Funeral Home in Fairburn, Ga., with visitation starting at 10 a.m. till service time. Interment will follow in Holly Hills Memorial Park, Fairburn.
