JONESBORO — Clayton County police arrested a Jonesboro man on Valentine's Day for allegedly luring victims through social media to rape and rob them.
Sgt. Kevin Hughes said Aamirr Philpot, 23, is accused of sex crimes going back two months. Hughes said Philpot met the alleged victims through social media sites and arrange a meeting.
At the meeting, Philpot robbed and raped the alleged victims at gunpoint, said Hughes.
Philpot is being held in the Clayton County Jail on charges of rape, false imprisonment, kidnapping, armed robbery, aggravated assault and aggravated sodomy.
Hughes said the arrest ended an "extensive" search for Philpot by police officers.
"The Clayton County Police Department is committed to the apprehension of all criminals and will continue to work diligently to get people responsible for criminal acts off the streets of Clayton County, ensuring a safe environment for all citizens," he said.

Another one that deserves life without parole. No need for him to be on the streets again.
