JONESBORO — Thousands of youngsters throughout the Southern Crescent region found ways to entertain themselves Monday.
Some enjoyed the outdoors, others played video games and a few passed the time at their local recreation center or the library.
Joshua Sebastian Salamanca, 12, took a few minutes to participate the “Make a Presidents' Day Picture” project at Clayton County Headquarters Library in Jonesboro.
The drop-in arts and crafts projects are popular at libraries, particularly during the holidays when youngsters are on school break, said Bea Mengel, youth services librarian at Headquarters Library.
“It’s a fun place to be, we’ve got something for everybody,” said Mengel, who counted 15 children and seven adults as having created projects by midday Monday.
