RIVERDALE — A Clayton County house is a “total loss” after it went up in flames New Year’s Eve, said Clayton County Fire and Emergency Services Capt. Walter Barber.
The house fire occurred at 5:57 p.m., at 6971 on Tan Bark in Riverdale, Monday.
Barber said there were no injuries as a result of the blaze.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, the flames quickly spread through the home, he added.
“We went defensive on it because it was fully involved,” Barber said. “Units arrived to find heavy fire and smoke coming from the house. The house was lost to the flames, it was a total loss.”
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
