JONESBORO — An Atlanta man is being held in the Clayton County Jail without bond on multiple child sex charges involving a girl, 13.
Shelton Lagon, 36, of Browns Mill Road was arrested Saturday. Clayton County police charged him with two counts of aggravated sexual battery, two counts of sodomy, two counts of child molestation, statutory rape, child molestation and violation of probation.
Police said Lagon had illegal physical contact with the girl at her Rex home. The alleged acts continued from June into December, said police.
Another member of the household told police of walking into the living room and witnessing an illegal act between Lagon and the girl Dec. 15. Police were immediately contacted and an investigation into allegations began, according to the arrest warrants issued by the Clayton County Magistrate Court.
During a forensic interview at Rainbow Connection, the girl told officials the alleged acts started when she was 12. There was no information on how Lagon knew the girl.
Criminal records show Lagon was arrested June 2010 for making obscene phone calls, in June 2011 for possession of cocaine and marijuana, in May for battery under the Family Violence Act and in October for harassing phone calls.
Clayton County court records show Lagon was arrested in February 2011 possession of marijuana and obstruction of an officer. He negotiated a plea and got probation on the charges.
