JONESBORO A week of events leading up to the Jan. 21 holiday honoring the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will begin in a house of God and end in the streets of Jonesboro.
State Sen. Gail Davenport (D-Jonesboro) and the Concerned Black Citizens Coalition of Clayton County will host the 28th annual Clayton County Ecumenical Service at Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church Sunday at 3 p.m.
Davenport and the coalition are also expected to hold their 22nd annual Clayton County Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Breakfast Jan. 19.
The Elijah Masonic Lodge No. 309/Electra Special No. 109 Eastern Star’s 13th annual Clayton County MLK Parade is then expected to be held in Jonesboro on the holiday.
