Woman indicted for hitting bicyclist

JONESBORO — A Clayton County grand jury indicted a driver on charges related to an accident involving a child on a bicycle.

Leslie Amanda HIghtower faces charges of serious injury by vehicle, failure to stop at an accident, reckless driving and failure to make an accident report in the March 24, 2010, incident. The indictment alleges Hightower hit bicyclist Jose Ruiz with her car.

Tracy Lorenzo Hall was indicted for unlawful eavesdropping or surveillance. Prosecutors allege Hall took photos of another man's groin while the man slept in his own room Aug. 24.

Kevin Scott Rose was indicted for escape for failing to return to the Clayton County Correctional Institute as required Oct. 7.

Montrell Deantre Gay was indicted in an alleged June 5 incident involving police officers. The indictment alleges Gay drove his car purposely toward a patrol unit, was speeding and driving recklessly and obstructed a second officer. Gay is also accused of possession of marijuana and throwing the drug away to avoid detection.

Devin Marquez Cotton was indicted in an Feb. 22 alleged carjacking. Prosecutors said Cotton, who was 17, held a gun to the driver's head and stole his cell phone and car. He is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, hijacking of a car, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and by a person under 18.

Robert King Ragland was indicted in the May 28 armed robbery of a Waffle House. Ragland is charged with armed robbery and six counts of aggravated assault. He was also charged with passing a counterfeit $100 bill.

JJuan Knecel Newton was indicted in a June 3 armed robbery of a driver. Police said he pointed a gun at the man and took his cell phone and money. Newton is also charged with firing a gun out of a vehicle.

Miler Gonzalez was indicted for aggravated assault on a police officer with a pencil. He faces two counts of aggravated assault, obstruction of an officer and disorderly conduct in the June 28 reported incident.

Armond Denard Brown was indicted in an aggravated assault using a car Dec. 22, 2011. Brown also faces charges he threatened an Atlanta police officer, bumped chests with the officer, grabbed the officer by the arm and refused to show his license to a second police officer.

Jamon Martel Lee was indicted in an Oct. 17 case involving accusations of kidnapping, false imprisonment, simple battery and battery under the Family Violence Act. Lee was also charged with two counts of third degree child cruelty because the allegations took place in front of children.

Cortez Lamar Grazes and Jaqan Leon Sterling were indicted on three armed robbery and aggravated assault charges, burglary and criminal trespass. Prosecutors allege the pair stole a Sony PlayStation and an Apple Mac laptop.

All defendants should be considered innocent until proven guilty.
