JONESBORO Drivers will have to adjust their traffic patterns when Clayton County’s annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade makes its way through Jonesboro Monday.
Parade participants are expected to gather before the parade on Government Circle behind the Clayton County Police Department Headquarters at 10 a.m.
The parade will begin at noon.
The route will take participants south on McDonough Street until they reach Johnson Street. At Johnson Street, they will turn right and cross the railroad tracks.
They will immediately turn left and come down North Main Street.
The parade will essentially end at the Jonesboro Train Depot and Road to Tara Museum at the corner of North Main Street and West Mill Street. However, they will turn left at the depot and cross back over the train tracks and stop at the official stopping point, which is the Historic Clayton County Courthouse on McDonough Street.
The roads will reopen to traffic after the parade passes through.
