JONESBORO — A passenger in an SUV died after hitting his head in a rollover crash late Monday night, said officials.
Clayton County police Officer Charlene Watson-Fraser said the unidentified passenger died at the scene of the rollover about 11 p.m. Monday. The driver, also unidentified, was taken to Atlanta Medical Center, where he is in good condition, she said.
Watson-Fraser said the SUV was speeding on northbound I-75 at Old Dixie Road when it hit the median wall and flipped several times.
Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation. Watson-Fraser said about 1 p.m. she was unsure if the next of kin had been notified yet so the name was not immediately released.
About 9 a.m. Tuesday, Morrow police responded to another rollover on northbound I-75 near Jonesboro Road, two miles south of Old Dixie Road. Clayton County fire Capt. Walter Barber said the car rolled but righted itself and emergency medical services personnel weren’t called to the scene.
