JONESBORO — Clayton County is taking a page out of the Golden Corral playbook.
The county will offer tax preparation assistance for senior citizens at a price that could be considered a big discount compared to ones many tax preparation and accounting companies give.
Actually, it’ll be about as big of a discount as a person can get — free.
Clayton County’s Senior Services Department will offer the no-cost tax assistance to residents over the age of 55 on Wednesdays and Fridays between Feb. 6 and April 12. The assistance will be available from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Frank Bailey Senior Center, located at 6213 Riverdale Road, in Riverdale.
The assistance will be provided by AARP representatives.
Elderly residents must make appointments in advance and they can call 678-479-5505 to schedule.
