RIVERDALE — Clayton County police are investigating the shooting death early Friday morning of a cab driver.
Clayton County police Officer Charlene Watson-Fraser said the driver was found dead inside his cab about 1:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Brookview Drive in Riverdale. Officers had responded to the location in reference to a suspicious vehicle, she said.
The driver had been shot and was unresponsive, she said.
Watson-Fraser said emergency medical personnel with Clayton County Fire Department were called to the scene but found no signs of life.
The shooting death is being investigated by the Clayton County Police Major Felony Unit. More information will be forthcoming pending the autopsy report, said Watson-Fraser.
Police declined to release the cabbie's name because of the ongoing investigation.
