PREP ROUNDUP: Wallace's shot gives ELCA girls a 33-31 victory

Catie Wallace hit a short jumper with 2.1 seconds remaining to send Eagle’s Landing Christian to a 33-31 victory over visiting Gallaway on Friday.

Wallace grabbed a loose ball and put up the shot. Gallaway was unable to get off a final shot before the buzzer sounded.

The Lady Chargers improved to 6-11 overall with the Region 5-A win.

Jonesboro 62, Spalding 28: Michelle Smith scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Lady Cardinals to their 13th straight game.

Victoria Florence had 15 points and Briana Benson added a game-high 17 points at Jonesboro improved to 15-3 overall.

Spalding was led by Twandalette Cotton, who had 16 points.

Henry County 65, Peach County 61: Taylor Cistrunk had a team-high 22 points to lead the Lady Hawks to a Region 2-AAA victory at home.

The win avenged a 54-53 loss to the Lady Trojans on Dec. 18.

Henry County (12-6) got off to a slow start falling behind 9-0 to start the game, but the Lady Hawks responded, eventually taking a 21-12 lead by the end of the first quarter. That lead gradually dwindled — to four at halftime, to just one point entering the fourth quarter — and then vanished when Peach County took the lead two minutes into the final quarter.

But Henry County reclaimed the lead two minutes later and never looked back.

Cameron Whitehorn added 16 points, including four 3-pointers, while Devon Lewis scored 12 points.

Forest Park 51, Ola 15: Despite resting several of their starters, the Lady Panthers cruised to the Region 4-AAAAA, Div. A win at home.

Tequilla Richardson had 15 points and Kayla Potts added 11 points, five assists and two blocks as the Lady Panthers won for the eighth straight time.

Nagging injuries kept starters Breasia McElrath and Kanisha Tharpe out of the lineup.

The Panthers take on Southwest DeKalb on Saturday in a non-region road game.

Woodland 70, Stockbridge 13: The Lady Wolfpack did just fine without head coach Ashley Maddox in a Region 4-AAAA, Div. A victory at home.

Maddox was at the hospital with his wife, who is expecting.

Despite his absence, Woodland (21-1) continued to roll, winning its 20th straight game.


Henry County 81, Peach County 55: Dre Souder had a game-high 27 points as the Warhawks won for the fourth time in the last five games.

Devale Johnson added 13 points and Tondric Johnson finished with 11 in the home win.

Jonesboro 72, Spalding 46: Casey Wells had a game-high 22 points and Patrick Petty added 11 for the Cardinals their sixth straight game.

Terence Brittian had 13 points for Spalding.

Forest Park 53, Ola 33: The Panthers snapped a seven-game losing skid with the Region 4-AAAAA, Div. A win at home.

The Panthers were led by Roshad Luten, who had 17 points. Brandon Williams had 12 points, 10 rebounds and five steals.

Stockbridge 67, Woodland 57: Nathan Greene led the Tigers with 21 points in a Region 4-AAAA, Div. A victory on the road.

Ramone Wynn added 12 points for Stockbridge (7-13), which has won four of its last six games. Kamal Hatter scored 10 points.
