James “Jim” Still, a WWII veteran in the Army Corp of Engineers Battalion D, who proudly served his country, was an ordained deacon for 50 years and owner of Still Heating and Air Conditioning, passed away June 29, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Bernice Still. Survived by four children, Barbara (Bobby) Pair, Morrow, Elaine Dickerson, McDonough; Jerry (Cheryl) Still, Stockbridge and Marie (Randy) Phillips, Stockbridge; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral service were held Tuesday, July 2, 11 a.m., in the chapel of Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors, Dr. Curtis Turner, officiating. Interment followed at Fairview Memorial Gardens. Family received friends Monday, July 1, at the funeral home, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thomas L.
