Special Photo Air Force Airman 1st Class Samantha Mack graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas. Mack is the daughter of Gwantina Mack of Forest Park, and former ward of Tiffany Hall of Atlanta.

Special Photo Air Force Airman Tyvenna Napper graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas. Napper is the daughter of Tyrone Napper and Dellarene Gaskins, both of Jonesboro. She is a 2012 graduate of Jonesboro High School.

MORROW — The Society for the Advancement of Behavioral Economics, the International Association for Research in Economics and Psychology and the International Confederation for the Advancement of Behavioral Economics and Economic Psychology is holding their international interdisciplinary conference through July 29 at Clayton State University.

The conference is the largest gathering of scholars with interest in economic psychology and behavioral economics, and individuals from 28 countries from Ghana to New Zealand will be in attendance.

Pharmacy student Tuynh Nguyen of Morrow has been named to the spring 2013 Dean’s List at University of the Sciences. Selection for the award is based on completing and passing all assigned courses with no grade below a “C” and attaining an academic average of at least 3.4 for courses taken in spring 2013.

Clayton County Public Schools is hosting new student registration Aug. 1-9. Specific times and locations are posted at www.clayton.k12.ga.us. The school year begins Aug. 12.

The district is also hosting a Back-to-School Resource Fair for Children and Youth in Transition. The event is Aug. 10, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Homeless Education Center, 2260 Old Rex Morrow Road in Morrow. Tickets for the fair are available at 700-473-3250.

Clayton State’s Small Business Development Center will be presenting a class on “Writing a Living Business Plan” Aug. 15. The class is from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will be held in room G127 on the first floor of the Clayton State Arts & Sciences Building.

The SBDC will hold a Starting a Business workshop Aug. 14, from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Griffin-Spalding Chamber of Commerce/Griffin Welcome Center, 143 N. Hill St. in Griffin.
