Front Porch Players announces Christmas show auditions

— Are these going to be the best Christmas play auditions ever or what?

The Front Porch Players has announced it will hold auditions for its Christmas show — a stage adaptation of Barbara Robinson’s book, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” — Aug. 4-5 at Stately Oaks Plantation, 100 Carriage Lane in Jonesboro. The play focuses on a church that is staging a children’s Christmas pageant based on the Bible’s nativity story.

There are 30 parts in the play, including 15 roles for children ages 5-14. Four adult men and six adult women are also needed for the play.

The auditions will be held in Stately Oaks’ Bethel Schoolhouse from 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Aug. 4 and from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Aug. 5. The play is expected to be performed over two weekends in mid-to-late-November.
